George Adamski

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

George Adamski (born April 17, 1891 in Bromberg (at the time the Prussian province of Posen , German Empire , now Poland ), † February 26, 1965 in Maryland , USA ) was an American science fiction writer and ufologist of Polish origin.

Ufologist

Adamski was the first "contact", someone who publicly claimed to have met aliens . He previously appeared as a UFO sight. Adamski wrote several books about his alleged meetings with Venusians , which should have taken him on interplanetary journeys. Some of his works became bestsellers, such as Flying Saucers Have Landed (1953, dt. Flying saucers land ) that he and Desmond Leslie wrote. Even ufologists saw his work as largely fictional. Science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke wrote in his novel 3001 - The Last Odyssey that ufologists would suffer from Adamski's disease.
