George Wall

George Wall (born February 20, 1885 in Bolden Colliery near Sunderland , † April 1962 in Manchester ), also known by the nickname The Geordie , was an English football player on the position of a striker who was part of the first two championship teams of the English record champions Manchester United belonged.

Life

About a century before Ryan Giggs played a left winger with the Red Devils for more than a decade, George Wall held the same position at Manchester United for almost a decade.

Wall first played in various youth teams in his home region in the north-east of England, before he made his breakthrough at second division club Barnsley . Between March 18, 1907 (1: 1 against Wales) and February 15, 1915 (2: 2 against Ireland) Wall completed seven international matches for the English national team , for which he scored both goals in the home game against Scotland on April 3, 1909 Contributed 2-0 victory of his team.
