The geozoo is a special kind of zoo design. The animals are kept here not according to systematic , but according to geographical aspects. For example, a lion is more likely to be found next to zebras , giraffes or elephants than to related species such as tigers or pumas . The first zoo of this kind was the Hellabrunn zoo in Munich . Over time, this type of zoo design became very popular and more and more parks, especially in the United States, followed suit in Munich. Even today, in the age of "naturally kept" zoo animals, it is an important component to show the animals as in their habitats in generously connected dioramas .
