Gerhard Barkleit

Gerhard Barkleit (born July 18, 1943 in Schillfelde , East Prussia ) is a German physicist, science historian and journalist from Dresden.

Career

Barkleit entered the school in Pröda in 1949 and attended school in Leuben from autumn 1953 .

After studying physics at the TU Dresden and subsequent doctorate at the Institute for Physical Chemistry ( Bergakademie Freiberg ), Barkleit worked for two decades as an employee of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR in the fields of nuclear energy and microelectronics. He worked at the Central Institute for Nuclear Research in Rossendorf and the Microelectronics Research Center in Dresden. There were also research stays in the Soviet Union. After the collapse of the GDR, he was one of the founders of the Hannah Arendt Institute in Dresden.
