Gerty Spies Literature Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The State Center for Political Education in Rhineland-Palatinate has awarded the Gerty Spies Literature Prize for literary work on socio-political issues since 1996. It commemorates the life and work of the German writer Gerty Spies (1897–1997).

The price was initially 2500 euros and has been endowed with 5000 euros since 2006 (as of 2020). The prize was awarded every two years until 2008 and annually until 2017. After an interruption in 2018 and 2019, the prize was awarded again in spring 2020; an award is planned every two years.
