Giada Andreutti (born February 16, 1995 in San Daniele del Friuli ) is an Italian athlete and bobsledder. In athletics she has specialized in discus throwing and in bobsleigh she is active as a pilot.

Career

Career as a track and field athlete

After she took part in the discus throw at the Italian Junior Championships on June 8, 2014 and was able to secure the silver medal, Giada Andreutti also started at Italian championships. On her debut at the championships in Rovereto on July 18, 2014 , she failed in qualifying. The following year she took part in the Italian University Championships in Fidenza on May 23, 2015 and won the silver medal in the discus throw with a width of 50.60 meters. She also won the silver medal in Rieti on June 14th at the Italian U23 championships. For Italy she was then allowed to take part in the 2015 U23 European Athletics Championships at the Kadriorg Stadium in Tallinn . At the international competition on July 11th she was eliminated from the discus qualification with a width of 48.00 meters. On the other hand, compared to last year, she was able to survive the qualification at the Italian championships and take ninth place in the discus throw final with a width of 47.50 meters.

In 2016 she took part in the U23 Mediterranean Games for Italy in Tunis and competed in the discus throwing competition. Giada Andreutti finished fifth there with a width of 46.97 meters. On June 12, 2016, she started at the Italian U23 World Championship in Bressanone and secured the U23 championship title with a width of 51.70 meters. A week later she started on June 17th in Modena at the Italian University Championships and just like last year she won the silver medal in the discus throw. After winning the discus qualification, she won the bronze medal behind Stefania Strumillo and Valentina Aniballi in the final of the Italian championships on June 25, 2016 in Rieti .

On June 10, 2017 Giada Andreutti missed defending his title in the discus throw at the Italian U23 World Championships in Florence and had to be content with second place. A week later she took part in the Italian University Championships in Catania , where she competed in both discus throwing and shot put. After she won the bronze medal in the discus throw on June 16, 2017 with a distance of 48.50 meters, she also won the bronze medal a day later with a distance of 11.80 meters in the shot put. After July 1, 2017 in Trieste finished fifth in the discus throw in the Italian championships, she took to Italy from 13 to 16 July in the Polish city of Bydgoszcz to the Athletics U23 European Championships in 2017 in part. After qualifying for the final in the discus throw, she finished the competition in the Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium on July 14th in 11th place.

At the Italian Winter Throwing Championship in Rieti , Giada Andreutti achieved a new personal best in discus throwing on February 24, 2018 with a width of 56.60 meters. This enabled her to increase her personal best by 90 centimeters. In addition, she secured the Italian championship title with this performance in the discus throw. As a result, she was allowed to take part in the European Winter Throwing Cup in Leiria for Italy and took sixth place in the discus throw with a width of 55.33 meters. At the end of the season she took part in the Italian championships in Pescara on September 7th and 8th, where she competed in the discus throw. After she was able to secure first place in the qualification, she won her second bronze medal at Italian championships with a width of 55.23 meters behind Valentina Aniballi and Stefania Strumillo .

Like last year, Giada Andreutti took part in the European Winter Throwing Cup , which took place in the Slovak city of Šamorín in 2019 . On March 10, 2019, she took seventh place in the discus throw with a width of 50.03 meters. After winning the gold medal in the discus throw with a width of 53.10 meters at the Italian University Championships in L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region on May 18, 2019 , she went to the discus throw for Italy at the Summer Universiade 2019 in Naples Begin. With a distance of 47.02 she fell short of expectations and could only take eleventh place in the discus competition. At the Italian championships in Brixen she won the silver medal with a width of 55.33 meters behind Stefania Strumillo and in front of Natalina Capoferri .

In addition to athletics , Giada Andreutti is also active as a bobsleigh driver . She made her international debut on November 4, 2018 in Lillehammer at the monobob competition. She took sixth place. A day later, she finished fifth in the second race. After finishing eleventh in the monobo race in Königssee on December 12th, she made her debut in the two-man bobsleigh in the European Bobsleigh Cup on the Königssee ice rink on December 15, 2019 . In the race, Tania Vicenzino acted as her pusher and the two finished the competition in 16th place. A day later, the two Italians finished 15th in the second European Cup competition at Königssee . Having in on 10 and 11 January 2019 Innsbruck finished 14th and 13th in the two races in the European Cup, they went on 2 February in Koenigssee together with Giulia Chenet at the Bob Junior World Championships at the start and ended the Competition in the normal ranking on the 14th place.

At the start of the 2019/20 season, Giada Andreutti took part in both the monobob race and the two-man bobsleigh race in the European Bobsleigh Cup in Lillehammer . She finished the monobob race in tenth place and in the two-man bobsleigh competition she took 12th place. Together with her pusher Silvia Taini , she made her debut in the World Cup on January 4, 2020 in Winterberg after the turn of the year . On their debut, the two Italians took 15th place in the Veltins ice arena . After finishing ninth in Sigulda on January 18, 2020 , she and Lucrezia Tavella were able to achieve the best result of the season with sixth place at the second competition in Sigulda one day later . At the European Cup in Innsbruck she started together with Anna Schenk and they finished the competition in 19th place. Race-in-Race also took place the European Junior Bobsleigh Championships on the Igls bobsleigh rink , and in this ranking the two took ninth place. At the end of the season, Giada Andreutti finished eighth overall with 411 points. A week after the European Cup in Sigulda, Giada Andreutti competed in the Junior Bobsleigh World Championships and finished the competition in 15th place together with her pusher Silvia Taini.

The two Italian bobsleigh pilots Giada Andreutti and Tania Vicenzino qualified for the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships . Giada Andreutti competed on the ENSO ice track in Altenberg at the 2020 Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships together with Silvia Taini . After Andreutti's teammate Tania Vicenzino and her Lucrezia Tavella fell in the first run , Giada Andreutti and her pusher caught it. During the fall, Silvia Taini could no longer hold herself in the bob and “fell” out of him. Both were lucky in the misfortune, because the fall went off lightly. Since Taini "fell" out of the bobsleigh, her bobsleigh were disqualified due to the IBSF rules and the previous times were canceled.
