Globe (television broadcast)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Globus was a TV science magazine that ran on Erste between 1982 and 2002 . The show was in 1981 by Alfred Thorwarth created and by the individual ARD - broadcasters produced with different moderators and also on content concept.

Between 1982 and 1993 the magazine had its slot on the late Sunday afternoon in front of the Weltspiegel . For many years the environmental program alternated with the science magazine Bilder aus der Wissenschaft , which was broadcast in March 1992 with the last episode. The two programs have since been merged into GLOBUS and alternately shown as GLOBUS - Research and Technology and GLOBUS - Environment every four weeks on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. on ARD. From 1993 to 2000 the editor Jean Pütz was responsible for GLOBUS - research and technology on Westdeutscher Rundfunk .

From 1993 the program switched to Tuesday evening and was broadcast every two weeks at 9:30 p.m. The last change took place in April 2000: Globus again broadcast weekly on Wednesday evening. With Hartmut Stumpf and Ranga Yogeshwar there were again two moderators who took turns. In 2002 the program was canceled due to a lack of audience interest.

From May 7, 2003, the successor magazine W wie Wissen went on air, moderated by Ursula Heller and initially ran on Wednesday at 9:45 p.m. on Erste . Since the beginning of 2006, the program has been broadcast on Sundays at 5:03 p.m.
