Glory alozie

Glory Alozie (born December 30, 1977 in Amator ) is a Spanish hurdler of Nigerian origin.

In 1996 Glory Alozie was second at the Junior World Championships in the 100-meter hurdles . She won the African Championships in 1996, 1998 and 2000. In 1999 at the Pan-African Games , she won gold in the Nigerian 4 x 100 meter relay in addition to the hurdles sprint . In the same year she won the silver medal in the 60-meter hurdles at the World Indoor Championships and the silver medal in the 100-meter hurdles behind Gail Devers (USA) at the 1999 World Championships in Seville . In this race she set her personal best on the hurdles course with 12.44 seconds.

At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 , she won the silver medal in the 100 meter hurdles behind Olga Schischigina (KAZ) and in front of Melissa Morrison (USA) in 12.68 seconds .

Her fiancé, the 400-meter runner Hyginus Anugo, died in a car accident just before the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

After living in Spain since 1997, Glory Alozie received Spanish citizenship on July 7, 2001.

At the European Championships in Munich in 2002 , she won the gold medal over 100 meter hurdles in 12.73 s. In 2003 at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham she was second in the 60 meter hurdles as in 1999 and fourth in the 100 meter hurdles at the 2003 World Championships in Paris in 12.75 seconds.

At the World Indoor Championships in Moscow in 2006 , she won silver over the 60 meter hurdles for the third time. At the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 , she was fourth in 12.86 s over 100 meter hurdles.

At a height of 1.56 m, her competition weight is 52 kg.
