Goerz Photochemical Works

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Goerz photochemical Werke GmbH was established in 1908 by Carl Paul Goerz in the Holstein Road 42 in the rural community Friedenau (from 1920: Berlin-Friedenau ), founded in the immediate vicinity of the headquarters of Goerz AG in Rheinstraße 45-46. The Photochemische Werke GmbH was largely independent of Goerz AG and produced roll films and film packs for amateur use, but also film material for the still young cinema industry. In 1918 the optical institute and the photochemical works moved into the new “Goerzwerk” in Schönow , Goerzallee (then the rural community of Zehlendorf ). After the formation of Zeiss-Ikon AG in 1926, the photochemical works were dissolved two years later as an independent company, but the production of raw films continued in the Goerzwerk.
