action

Aging and hypochondriac show producer JJ Hobart is planning a new stage show. However, his partners Morty Wethered and Tom Hugo have lost all of their reserves for the show behind his back on stock market speculation. With the help of ex-show girl Genevieve Larkin, they plan to get $ 1 million life insurance on JJ. Through a former colleague from Genevieve, Norma Perry, who now works as a secretary for an insurance company, they convince the insurance agent Rosmer Peck to take out the policy. While Morty and Tom hope that JJ's health will deteriorate so that he dies and they can collect the insurance sum, Rosmer and his supervisor Andy Callahan, who have since found out JJ's previously veiled age, hope the opposite, to get the lucrative contract not to burst. Contrary to the fears, JJ passes the medical examination with flying colors and is even enjoying better health every day. The planning and preparations for the show go on without JJ suspecting that he is actually bankrupt. His partners try unsuccessfully to arrange for JJ to die earlier. Genevieve gets closer to JJ and falls in love with him. When Rosmer uncovered the plan of JJ's partners, he convinced his manager to take over the financing of the show in order to prevent a collapse and death of JJ if he found out that he could no longer put on the stage show. The show takes place and becomes a great success. Genevieve and JJ get married, as do Norma and Rosmer.
