Golden city

The golden city is the common name for the city of Prague . The Golden City , a German fiction film by Veit Harlan from 1942 , is also set in Prague .

Mainz was called "Aurea Moguntia ", the "Golden Mainz" in its medieval heyday . This lives on in the Mainz Carnival as “golden meenz”.

Jaisalmer in the Indian state of Rajasthan, built of yellow-brown sandstone, is called the golden city of India.

The "golden city" is the subject of numerous old and modern sagas, legends ( Eldorado ) and fairy tales.
