The Gulf of Salerno is a bay in the Tyrrhenian Sea , in southern Italy . The Gulf of Naples to the north is separated from Sorrento by the peninsula . The golf is almost semicircular and has a diameter of about 60 kilometers. On its north side are the cities of Amalfi and Salerno .
