history
Gopplasgrün was mentioned in 1310 as "Gopoldsgrun". Regarding the manorial rule, the place was divided until the 19th century. One part belonged to the manor Erlbach upper part, the other part was subordinate as an official village until 1856 directly to the Electoral Saxon or royal Saxon office of Voigtsberg . At that time, the settlement of Friebus in the northwest was also part of Gopplasgrün. Around 1875 this belonged to Wohlhausen. After 1856 Gopplasgrün belonged to the Markneukirchen court office and from 1875 to the Oelsnitz administration .
On June 1, 1936, Gopplasgrün was incorporated into Erlbach . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Gopplasgrün became part of the Erlbach community in 1952 and became part of the Klingenthal district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which continued in 1990 as the Saxon district of Klingenthal and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996 . With the incorporation of the Erlbach community into the town of Markneukirchen, Gopplasgrün became a district of Markneukirchen on January 1, 2014.
