Guido Streichsbier (born October 21, 1969 in Karlsruhe ) is a former German soccer player and has been the soccer coach of the German U-19 national team since 2018 .

Career

As a player

Streichsbier began his career at Karlsruher SC , where he played in the second team from 1988. From 1990 he was also a member of the professional squad, but he did not appear in the Bundesliga. In 1992 he left Karlsruhe and played for two years for the first division club 1. FC Pforzheim . With the introduction of the regional league as the 3rd division, he moved to TSF Ditzingen in 1994 . In 1996 he returned to KSC. With the second team he made it to the round of 16 in the 1996/97 DFB Cup , in which the club lost 1-0 to VfL Bochum . From 1997 to 1999 Streichsbier played again for TSF Ditzingen in the Regionalliga Süd . From 1999 Streichsbier switched to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and rose with the club twice. He played under coach Hansi Flick in the football league Baden-Württemberg and after promotion in 2001 in the regional league for a year. In 77 league appearances for the club he scored 36 goals.

As a trainer

After he had finished his active football career, Streichsbier became a junior coach in Hoffenheim. From 2004 to 2011 he looked after the U17 and then the U19 of the club. With the U17 he was German champion of the U-17 Bundesliga in 2008 . He won the DFB Junior Club Cup with the U19 in 2010 . In 2011 he took over the post of head coach at FC-Astoria Walldorf . With the team he succeeded in the 2013/14 season promotion from the Oberliga to the Regionalliga. Despite an offer from the club for further cooperation, Streichsbier took over the German U-18 national team in the summer of 2014 . In March 2016, due to Marcus Sorg's move to the senior national team, he was temporarily promoted to coach of the U-19 national team . At the following U-19 European Championship in 2016 , his team qualified for the following U-20 World Championship in 2017 . He was followed by Frank Kramer in August 2016 , while Streichsbier became the coach of the U-20 national team . Currently (2020) Streichsbier is the trainer of the German U-19 national team.
