Gustav Bark

Gustav Bark (born October 30, 1889 in Basel , † April 1970 in Guntershausen) was a Swiss football player and coach .

Career

He played as a middle runner for the BSC Old Boys Basel . In 1911 he entered Nuremberg at the company MAN a job as a mechanical engineer and joined the 1. FC Nuremberg in. In the game against Union Stuttgart (1: 3) on March 12, 1911, he played for the first time for the club , for which he played 438 games until 1924. At the age of 19 he made his debut as a national player for Switzerland .

From 1916 he was the captain and player-coach of the football team that became the most successful in Germany in the 1920s .
