Guy Kelly
Edgar "Guy" Kelly (born November 22, 1906 in Scotlandville , Louisiana , † February 24, 1940 in Chicago , Illinois ) was an American hot jazz musician ( trumpet , cornet , vocals ).
Live and act
Guy Kelly began his music career in the band of banjo player Toots Johnson in Baton Rouge before moving to New Orleans, where he worked for Papa Celestin in 1927/28 . After touring with Kid Howard and Boyd Atkins , he stayed in Chicago in 1930, where he spent the following years a. a. starred with Cassino Simpson , Erskine Tate , Dave Peyton , Tiny Parham , Carroll Dickerson , Jimmie Noone ( The Blues Jumped a Rabbit , 1936), Half Pint Jaxon and Albert Ammons . Kelly worked in the field of jazz between 1928 and 1936 with six recording sessions, except for the aforementioned also with Art Tatum .
