Guy Touvron

Guy Touvron (born February 15, 1950 in Vichy ) is a classical trumpeter and university teacher in Paris .

Life

Touvron's parents weren't musicians, but his grandfather already played cornet . So at the age of ten he started playing cornet in his hometown.

In 1967 he went to the CNSM de Paris , studied with Maurice André and one year later he achieved the Premier Prix in the field of cornet, in 1969 the Premier Prix in the field of trumpet and from 1971 to 1975 received international prizes in Munich , Prague and Geneva .

Since then, Guy Touvron has been a sought-after soloist and has worked with internationally known orchestras such as I Solisti Veneti , the English Chamber Orchestra , the Mozarteum Orchestra in Salzburg, the Lucerne Festival Strings and numerous symphony orchestras , and has given concerts at home and abroad, for example in Paris , Lille , Lanaudière , Pollença , Ansbach , Salzburg and Montreux . He has given concerts with well-known classical music artists such as Jean-François Paillard , Yehudi Menuhin , Serge Baudo , Claudio Scimone . More than 25 works were written for him by contemporary composers, e. B. by Jacques Loussier , Alain Margoni , Graciane Finzi a. a.

He is a regular guest in Asia and has made 110 recordings in the USA , which have always received favorable reviews. His repertoire is comparable to that of his former teacher Maurice André and extends into the 19th century.

He is Professor at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional (CRR) in Paris. For his services, he was made Knight of the Ordre national du Mérite in 1993 and officer of the Ordre national du Mérite in 2000. Touvron is also Chevalier des Arts et Lettres .
