HörDat

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The HörDat is an online database with information on 45,000 radio plays and 6,600 radio features . It is aimed at scientists and interested listeners. In addition to the production data, the database also contains table of contents, broadcast dates and web links for further information.

history

The database was founded in October 2000 by Herbert Piechot. Since 1982, Piechot has been collecting radio plays on audio cassettes out of private interest . The collection was later supplemented by radio play brochures from all public German-speaking broadcasters.

In addition to entries on radio plays, the HörDat also contains evidence of radio features. The search in the database can be restricted to radio plays for which a broadcast date has been saved. The freely accessible web project receives an average of 2,300 queries per day.

On April 19, 2011, Herbert Piechot was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for the construction of the radio play website .

review

The FAZ wrote about the project: "If you add the audio game database of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation , you have two tools at hand that withstand scientific demands and close an important gap for collectors that only the German Broadcasting Archive has been able to narrow with its book publications so far ."
