HV Stuttgart Kickers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The HV Stuttgarter Kickers was a handball club from Stuttgart . The club was founded in 2005 as an independent club after the handball department of the Stuttgarter Kickers was outsourced . The Stuttgart real estate entrepreneur Jürgen Hollenbach was president and main sponsor of the association.

In mid-July 2012, the club's game operations were completely stopped due to bankruptcy, at which time the kickers were playing in the southern season of the third division . Then the teams were re-affiliated to the original parent club.

successes

In the 2004/05 season the first men's team of the HV was promoted for the first time from the fifth-rate Württembergliga to the Baden-Württemberg Oberliga (BWOL), where the club achieved a respectable success in the first season with eighth place in the final table. After relegation in the following 2006/07 season, he was directly promoted again in the 2007/08 season. At the end of the 2010/11 season, the team was able to become champions of the BWOL, with which the direct qualification for participation in the game operation of the 3rd division was connected.

Financial problems and bankruptcy

In February 2012, long-time President Jürgen Hollenbach denied rumors about financial problems that had arisen in connection with the withdrawal of the Kickers from the Scharrena venue . The reason for the change of the venue is the low number of spectators. By the end of June 2012, the liabilities to the city of Stuttgart due to the hall rent had risen to around 35,000 euros, which could not be paid. In mid-July it was finally announced that the third division team would be discontinued. In addition, an application was made to the handball association of Württemberg to transfer the other teams back to the former main club SV Stuttgarter Kickers .

Return to the parent club Stuttgarter Kickers

After the bankruptcy became known, with the consent of the Württemberg handball association, the original club, Stuttgarter Kickers, stepped in to support the members in its handball department. The playing rights of the teams except the first men's team were transferred as far as possible.

The first women's team then played in the northern relay of the Oberliga Württemberg, the men's team in the district league Rems-Stuttgart. (As of 3/2014)
