Halina Wawzyniak (born July 17, 1973 in Königs Wusterhausen ) is a German politician . Until June 2012 she was deputy chairman of the party Die Linke . From the 3rd federal party conference until May 2016 she acted as an assessor on the board . She was a member of the German Bundestag from 2009 to 2017 .

Halina Wawzyniak graduated from high school in 1992 and then studied law at the Free University of Berlin . After the second state examination in 2002, she worked as an independent lawyer until 2005. From 2005 to 2009 she worked as a legal advisor for the left parliamentary group in the Bundestag. Since 2018 she has been working as parliamentary group manager for DIE LINKE in the Berlin House of Representatives.

Political party

Wawzyniak joined the PDS in August 1990 at the age of 17 . She was subsequently co-founder of the Young Comrades Working Group (AGJG), which was replaced in 1999 by the party-affiliated youth association ['solid] .

In the late 1990s she was a member of the PDS party executive. In 2001 she ran in Kreuzberg as a direct candidate of the PDS for the Berlin House of Representatives , but was not elected. For the 2002 elections , she was director of the PDS campaign offices following the Kampa the SPD . She was a member of the program commission that worked out the Chemnitz program . Together with André Brie , she was also the spokesperson for the Federal Working Group on Civil Rights and Democracy . At the federal party congresses of the PDS she was the spokeswoman for the application commission and thus involved in the implementation of the PDS party congresses. For a long time she was a member of the Federal Arbitration Commission of the PDS until she resigned there in December 2005 when she was elected deputy state chairman of the PDS Berlin.

At the side of Bodo Ramelow , Dietmar Bartsch and others , Wawzyniak was entrusted with the organization for the unification of the Left Party.PDS with the WASG for the Left Party , Wawzyniak in particular for the legal aspects.

After she was elected to the federal executive committee of the party Die Linke on June 16, 2007 , she decided not to run again for the Berlin state executive committee. On May 24, 2008 she was elected deputy chairwoman at the 1st party congress in Cottbus. In addition, between 2007 and 2011 she was chairwoman of the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district association of the Left in Berlin.

For the 2009 Bundestag election, Halina Wawzyniak ran as a direct candidate in constituency 84 (Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg Ost). During the election campaign, her poster with the slogan With Ass in his Pants received media attention in the Bundestag . Hans-Christian Ströbele won the electoral district, but it still made it to the Bundestag via the state list.

In the 17th electoral term, Halina Wawzyniak was the spokeswoman for her parliamentary group's network policy, chairwoman of the Internet and Digital Society Enquête Commission of the Bundestag and deputy chairwoman of the legal committee. She was a deputy member of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development and the New Media subcommittee .

In January 2012 it became known that Halina Wawzyniak is one of 27 members of the Bundestag left under surveillance by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution , which has been criticized by politicians from all political groups . In the 2013 federal election , she was re-elected to the Bundestag in 5th place on the state list.

Wawzyniak was one of seven parliamentary directors of the left parliamentary group in the German Bundestag.

For the general election in 2017 it did not run more for the Bundestag.

In the 18th electoral term of the German Bundestag (2013–2017) Wawzyniak was a deputy member of the G 10 commission .
