Haneda ( Japanese 羽 田 ) is a district of the Ōta district of the Japanese prefecture of Tokyo . It is located in the southeast of Ōta and thus on the southern edge of Tokyo . Haneda is divided into six chôme , in which on January 1, 2010 a total of 14,932 inhabitants lived.

Haneda is bounded in the north by the Kampachi-dōri, the eighth ring, in the west by a prefecture road, which leads as a Daishi Bridge ( 大師 橋 , Daishi-bashi ) over the Tama in the south, which is also the southern border of Haneda and the border forms between the prefectures of Tokyo and Kanagawa. To the east of Haneda is Tokyo International Airport , which has its own name as Haneda-kūkō ("Haneda Airport").

The Tokyo city expressway No. 1 (“Haneda Line”) of Shuto Kōsokudōro , which merges into the Tokyo city expressway No. K1 (“Yokohane Line”), and the airport line of the Keihin Kyūkō Dentetsu Railway Company (Keikyū ), which stops at Anamori-inari station in Haneda 4-chôme.

In the "fishing village Haneda" ( 羽田猟師町 , Haneda Ryōshimachi ; in this case literally "Jägerndorf Haneda") below the actual village Haneda was for centuries a ferry landing, which with Kamitono-machi (? 上殿町 in today) Kawasaki Association .

As a modern community since the Meiji period

Haneda was upgraded to a village ( Mura ) in the district of Ebara in 1889 when modern regional authorities were established , and in 1907 it was upgraded to a city ( Machi ). In 1932 Haneda was incorporated into Tokyo City , where it was part of Kamata Borough . After the city of Tokyo was dissolved in 1943, Haneda has belonged to Ōta since the Tokyo administration was reorganized in 1947. As a community, Haneda encompassed a much larger area than today's district; this also included today's Haneda Airport and neighboring areas north and west of today's Haneda.
