Hannelore Mensch

Hannelore Mensch (née Bosch ; born June 16, 1937 in Neu Zachun ) is a former German politician ( SED ). She was Minister for Labor and Wages in the GDR .

Life

Hannelore Mensch, daughter of a farmer , attended the agricultural college in Ludwigslust from 1953 to 1956 , from which she graduated as a state-certified farmer. In 1958 she worked as a planner at MTS Brüsewitz . From 1958 to 1962 she was FDJ secretary and sector leader at the council of the Schwerin-Land district . In 1959 she joined the SED.

From 1962 to 1963 she worked in the agriculture department of the Berlin magistrate and from 1963 to 1973 head of the agriculture department of the SED district leadership in Berlin. She completed a distance learning course at the party college "Karl Marx" as a graduate social scientist. From 1973 to 1978 she was city councilor and secretary of the Berlin magistrate and from 1978 to 1989 first deputy mayor of Berlin. From November 1989 to March 1990 she was Minister for Labor and Wages of the GDR in the Modrow government .

For “inciting to falsify elections ” in the local elections in the GDR in 1989 , she was sentenced in 1993 by the Berlin Regional Court to one year suspended prison sentence.
