Hans-Joachim Samm (born September 17, 1952 ) was a football player in the GDR . In the Oberliga , the top division of the GDR Football Association , he played for 1. FC Union Berlin .

Athletic career

At the age of seven, he started playing organized football in the children's team of the company sports community (BSG) Motor Ludwigsfelde . He went through all age groups of the BSG youth department, was part of the BSG Motor Babelsberg for a while and played with Motor Ludwigsfelde in the third-class Potsdam district league from 1970 .

At the beginning of the 1971/72 season, the Ludwigsfelder delegated their striker collecting to the first division club 1. FC Union Berlin. There, collecting was used right at the beginning in the league team. Although he played 20 of the 26 Bundesliga point games in his first league season, he was only ten times in the starting eleven and only played in seven games over the full game. Usually he was called up as a midfielder. In the following 1972/73 season, collecting only played in the first half of the season for the league team, but played twelve of the 13 point games, this time in attack. His only upper league goal was achieved by the actually offensively oriented collection on October 28, 1972 in the match on the 7th day of the game Wismut Aue - Union, when he brought his team in the lead in the 50th minute. In the end, however, Union lost 1: 2. Collect scored another goal for Union in the GDR Cup competition in 1972/73.

From 1973 to 1977, interrupted by a year and a half military service, he played again for Motor Ludwigsfelde, with whom he rose to the second-rate GDR league in 1974 . The GDR league stay lasted only one year, however, after relegation, Sammy played with Ludwigsfelde in the district league until 1977. For the 1977/78 season he returned to East Berlin and now played for the GDR league promoted BSG Bergmann-Borsig . Apart from the 1979/80 season (relegation to the district league), collecting played with Bergmann-Borsig in the GDR league until 1983. After relegation in 1983, he left the BSG Bergmann-Borsig and joined the BSG Motor Eberswalde , where he played one more season in the GDR league and after relegation finally ended his football career in the district league.
