Hans Kary (born February 23, 1949 in Spittal an der Drau , Carinthia ) is a former Austrian tennis player .

Life

Kary grew up with two older brothers, the father was a railroad worker, in the simplest of circumstances. As a child, he learned to play tennis on the tennis court next to his house. In his career he won his only single Grand Prix tournament in Lagos in 1979 . He achieved three tournament victories in doubles. From 1969 to 1983 Kary played a total of 58 Davis Cup games for Austria , both singles and doubles, with a record of 33 wins and 25 losses. During this time he shaped Austrian tennis together with Peter Feigl .
