Hans Pauli Strøm

Hans Pauli Torkilssonur Strøm (born December 28, 1947 in Vágur , Faroe Islands ) is a Faroese politician of the social democratic Javnaðarflokkurin . 2004–2009 he was Minister of Social Affairs and Health of the Faroe Islands government .

Hans Pauli Strøm is the son of Herborg and Torkil Strøm from Vágur. He is married to Gyðja Hjalmarsdóttir Didriksen, with whom he has three children, Marin, Herborg Silja and Ingilín. The family lives in Vestmanna .

Strøm is a trained sociologist and from 1988 was head of department at the Statistical Office of the Faroe Islands (Hagstova Føroya). From 1994 to 1996 he was a member of the state school board, including one and a half years as chairman.

He was a member of Løgting from 1998 to 2002 and again from July 2009 to November 2011.

From February 4, 2004 to September 16, 2008, he was Minister of Social Affairs and Health in the Jóannes Eidesgaard government , and then until July 14, 2009 Minister of Health in the Kaj Leo Johannesen government .
