Hans Schalla
Hans Schalla (born May 1, 1904 in Hamburg ; † August 22, 1983 there ) was a German actor and theater director .
Career
Schalla was an actor in Hamburg , Berlin , Breslau , Darmstadt , Bremen , Altona , Kassel and Essen , a director in Stettin , Gera , Aachen, Göttingen and Cologne , and then acting director at the Städtische Bühnen Düsseldorf .
From 1949 to 1972 he directed the Bochum theater . Initially he had pieces by classical authors performed, later he turned to contemporary authors such as Bertolt Brecht . Schalla helped the theater to gain a reputation as an international stage.
