Hans Suter (born April 13, 1940 in Wittenwil ) is a Swiss actor, author and satirist.

Life

From 1965 to 1968, Hans Suter trained as an actor in the Zurich Acting Association. Between 1969 and 1970 he was on tour with Alfred Rasser's «civil defense lawyer Läppli ». Then he played on different stages: Schauspielhaus Zürich (director: Benno Besson / Horst Sördert ), Galerietheater Die Rampe in Bern (director: Volker Hesse ), Innerstadtbühne Aarau (director: Peter Schweiger), guest roles at the Städtebundtheater Biel - Solothurn . In Die Bettleroper (Director: Daniel Fueter) he took on the role of Macheath. He is the author of the libretto and main actor in the opera "Egon, from the life of a bank clerk" by Max E. Keller , played by the Pocket Opera Nuremberg . Since the early 1980s he has been writing satirical texts for the Swiss satirical magazine Nebelspalter as well as radio plays for several German-language broadcasters. In 1982 he founded the amateur theater group "Die Sehvögel" with the blind and visually impaired, for which Suter edited and directed texts until 1986. 1986–1991 he was artistic director of the Tuchlaube Theater in Aarau. From the beginning of the 1990s he went on tour with his own satirical cabaret programs. Since 2002 he has been on the board of the copyright society Pro Litteris . His first book Satiren - fidel und kindrechte was published in 2009 by Edition Howeg, Zurich, his first detective novel Basler Farben in 2014 by Emons Verlag , Cologne, and his novel Down at the Lake - Episodes of a Youth 2015 by Limmat Verlag . The award-winning play Unter Druck (3rd Marburg short drama competition) was premiered in December 2006 at the Theater Objekt in Marburg, s Gschirr vo early, e Groteske i Zwee Äkt (Swiss dialect version ) on March 4, 2016 in the community cellar in Würenlos (CH) under the Directed by Albert Freuler .

In July 2020, Radio SRF Musikwelle will be honoring him on the occasion of his 80th birthday with a three-part program portrait from writer to writer , the right hand of the teacher , from painter to actor and author .
