Hansheiri Dahinden

Hansheiri Dahinden (born February 23, 1932 in Altdorf UR ; actually Hans ) is a Swiss politician and songwriter . He belongs to the Free Democratic Party .

Hansheiri Dahinden was born as the son of Clemens Dahinden, who was director of the Altdorf, Schwyz and Wassen electricity works. After graduating in Altdorf he studied at the University of St. Gallen economics and graduated in 1956 with the licentiate (lic.oec. HSG) from.

From 1962 to 1984 Dahinden was editor-in-chief of the Uri weekly newspaper “Gotthard-Post”. At the same time he was secretary and president of the FDP of the Canton of Uri from 1962 to 1972. From 1968 to 1971 he was the mayor of Altdorf. From 1971 to 1975 he was a member of the Uri District Administrator . From 1976 to 1987 he was a member of the government of the canton of Uri , where he headed the judiciary, military and police departments. From 1982 to 1984 he was also Landammann . From 1987 to 1997 Dahinden was director of the Central Office for General Defense . He was involved in the preparation of the 1990 Security Policy Report.

Dahinden is married. He was a colonel in the general staff. He is a member of the “Charity Altdorf”. He is also known as the “singing government councilor”, in contrast to the “dancing Landammann” Hansruedi Stadler .
