The Haubenschloßanlage (also Haubenschloßpark and Hoefelmayrpark ) is a park in the southwest of Kempten (Allgäu) . The Vindelicier, Alemanni and Estionenweg lead through it.

history

The park was laid out by the city gardener Dominikus Senn (1863–1915). All public green spaces in Kempten up to the outbreak of the First World War can be traced back to him. The starting point for the park was the hooded lock , which was supposed to be protected by a tree planting.

The park area has become smaller since the hooded lock school was built in the early 1950s, the Allgäu-Gymnasium was built in the late 1960s and multi-storey residential buildings were built by a housing association in the 1970s. In the past, the complex therefore consisted of two large parks: the Hoefelmayrpark to the south to Adelharz , which is named after the founder of the Edelweiss cheese dairy, Karl Hoefelmayr, and to the north of it, around the hooded lock , the hooded lock park.
