Capital zoo

The term capital zoo , sometimes also Berlin zoo , refers to the joint management of the two large zoos in Berlin. It has existed since January 31, 2007. These two zoos are:

After German reunification , there was initially a cooperation between the two zoos. Finally, the director of Tierpark Berlin-Friedrichsfelde GmbH, Bernhard Blaszkiewitz , became a board member of Zoo Berlin AG on July 1, 2006. On January 31, 2007, he also became director of the latter zoo. Andreas Knieriem took over these functions from July 2014 .
