Heartbeat is a British television series broadcast by ITV from 1992 to 2010 .

The series is humorous about the experiences of a rural police station in Yorkshire in the 1960s. Outside of the soap opera genre , it is the most successful and longest-running British television series of the 1990s, with 10 to 15 million viewers per episode.
