The Heavenly Mountain Resort , also known as Heavenly Valley known, a ski resort in the United States on the border of the states of California and Nevada . It is located in the Carson Range , an eastern part of the Sierra Nevada , on the south shore of Lake Tahoe east of the city of South Lake Tahoe .

The ski area covers a total area of ​​19.4 km². There are 29 lifts (1 gondola , 1 cable car , 17 chair lifts with a capacity of two to six people, 6 drag lifts and 4 conveyor belts ). The total capacity is 52,000 people per hour. The lifts start at 1907 meters above sea level (valley station of the gondola lift in Heavenly Village) and reach up to 3060 meters. Winter sports enthusiasts can choose from 94 marked slopes of all levels of difficulty with an altitude difference of up to 1060 meters, of which 73 percent can be artificially snowed . At the mountain station of the gondola there is an adventure park that is also open in summer. The ski season runs from mid-November to the end of April. In the summer months, the area is used for hiking .

Up until 1986, Heavenly Valley hosted several ski world cup races . In 1997 the ISF - Snowboard World Championship took place here.
