Hedwig Jochmus (* 22. June 1899 in Kassel , † 25. July 1993 in Heidelberg ) was a German politician of the CDU . She was a member of the Bundestag from 1953 to 1957 and the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg from 1960 to 1969.

Life

Hedwig Jochmus was born in Kassel as the daughter of the mayor Hermann Jochmus. She attended the municipal college for the secondary school direction to Cassel and got her Abitur there in the school year 1918. With studies on unsaturated ketones , she received her doctorate in chemistry in 1926 at the University of Halle-Wittenberg. Jochmus then worked as a chemist at IG Farbenindustrie in Ludwigshafen and, after the war, at BASF . She is a co-founder of the federal employed academics in the IG Chemie .

Political party

Hedwig Jochmus was a member of the CDU. From 1956 to 1966 she was federal chairwoman of the CDU women's association .

Hedwig Jochmus was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957. She was elected from the CDU state list in Baden-Württemberg . She was also a member of the Heidelberg-Stadt constituency in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from 1960 to 1968 .

Honors

Hedwig-Jochmus-Strasse was named after her in the Heidelberg district of Kirchheim.

On April 21, 1979, Hedwig Jochmus was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg Palace.
