occupation

Heidi by director Markus Imboden is a feature film from 2001. The film is very loosely based on the novel of the same name by Johanna Spyri .

This Heidi film is a modern interpretation of the Heidi story. Heidi was carried over to the present day. Therefore, Heidi inevitably has to deal with today's problems.

action

Heidi lives carefree with her single mother. Heidi's mother runs a small guesthouse in a small Swiss village. Heidi's mother had a fatal accident during a thunderstorm. Since her father has long been dead, Heidi suddenly becomes an orphan . First, Heidi can stay with her boyfriend Peter. Heidi is very sad about her mother's death, but she is comforted by the thought that her mother is now a star in the sky.

Heidi's only relatives are her aunt Dete and her grandfather. The aunt is given custody , but she shows little interest in looking after a child. So she brings Heidi to her grandfather, who lives as a hermit on an alpine pasture. Even the grandfather is initially not thrilled that a child is now living with him; he has already isolated himself too much from everyone.

But Heidi's lovable nature quickly softens the old man's heart and soon he can no longer imagine life without Heidi. But then Dete reappears and takes Heidi to Berlin . Dete has a daughter herself. Clara had previously lived in a boarding school, but was kicked out because of her behavior. Dete hopes that Heidi's presence will improve Clara's behavior. Dete doesn't have time to take care of Clara herself. She is a successful fashion designer and works constantly.

Clara is not at all enthusiastic about living with Heidi. She bullies Heidi wherever she can and even makes fun of her for speaking to her dead mother in the sky. But apparently Clara becomes a little friendlier to Heidi. She advises Heidi to dye her hair blue. In order to befriend Clara, Heidi agrees. But that was just a sneaky move by Clara. She floods the bathroom and claims that Heidi caused the hair-dyeing mess.

Thereupon Heidi rips out of Dete's house. But without money, the escape back to the grandfather turns out to be very difficult. In addition, you stand out even in Berlin with blue hair. Heidi finds help in an internet café . There she can use the computer for free and can contact Peter by email. He organizes a fundraising campaign on the Internet and many children collect money so that Heidi can go back.

However, Heidi is caught by the police and has to go back to Dete and Clara. With her special charm, Heidi succeeds in relieving the tension between Dete and Clara. Dete is finally taking more time for her child. Heidi uses the opportunity when mother and daughter are finally together again and drives back to grandfather.

The grandfather opens the small pension together with Heidi. Dete and Clara are the first to visit.
