Heinz-Gerhard Wente

Heinz-Gerhard Wente (born April 23, 1951 in Nettelrede ) is a German manager . He is President of the private Leibniz University of Applied Sciences in Hanover . Wente was a member of the Executive Board of Continental AG and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Salzgitter AG .

Live and act

Wente attended the Hameln Business School, which he graduated from high school in 1969. From 1969 to 1971 he did a commercial apprenticeship at Continental AG in Hanover . He then did military service until 1972 . He studied economics at the University of Hanover and Göttingen University and graduated in 1978 as a business graduate from. From then on he worked at Continental AG, where he worked his way up the internal structure.

Memberships
  • since 1993 working in various parts of the ContiTech division . He headed it from October 2008 to April 2015.
  • From May 3, 2007 to April 30, 2015 he was a member of the Executive Board of Continental AG, where he was Chief Human Resources Officer and Labor Director until December 2011.

From 2010 to 2016 Wente was Vice-President of the Hanover Chamber of Industry and Commerce and from 2007 to 2011 Deputy President of the German Chemical Employers' Association . Wente has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Salzgitter AG since September 2015 and Chairman of the Board since April 2016. On September 1, 2018, he succeeded Heiner Feldhaus as President of the private Leibniz University of Applied Sciences in Hanover.
