Heinz Wölfl

Heinz Wölfl (born March 9, 1953 in Bodenmais ; † August 16, 2011 at Bretterschachten near Bodenmais) was a German administrative lawyer and local politician ( CSU ).

Life

Wölfl attended elementary school from 1959 to 1963 and then switched to the Zwiesel grammar school, where he passed the Abitur in 1972. In 1977 he graduated in law from the University of Regensburg and then worked as a trainee lawyer at various authorities. In 1980 he joined the government of Lower Bavaria in the administrative service. From November 1980 he was Councilor at the District Office of the rain.

On July 4, 1983, he became mayor of the city of Regen . He played a major role in setting up the Lower Bavarian Agricultural Museum .

From November 1, 1994 until his death, he was the District Administrator of the Regen district and was re-elected in 2002 and 2008 without any opposing candidates.

He was married and had three children.

Circumstances of death

On the night of August 17, 2011, he was killed in a consciously self-inflicted traffic accident on the state road between Bodenmais and the Großer Arbersee . According to press reports, the cause of Wölfl's actions were high debts, which were probably due to a gambling addiction . Wölfl was very popular in the region, 81 obituaries were printed for him in the regional newspaper.

Two weeks after Wölfl's death, the Deggendorf public prosecutor's office started preliminary investigations into anonymous corruption allegations in collaboration with the Landshut criminal police. By May 2013, this investigation could be fully completed. Overall, all proceedings were discontinued, in two proceedings against payment of a financial contribution to a non-profit organization.

Proceedings regarding Wölfl's estate insolvency were carried out at the Deggendorf district court.
