action

Robert Grusinsky aka Bobby Green is enjoying life as the manager of a hip New York nightclub to the fullest, while his brother Joseph is following in his father's footsteps with the New York Police Department . After a drug raid in Bobby's club, the two very different brothers get into a fight in which they both insult each other and part unspoken. Joseph, who deliberately brought up drug dealer Vadim Nezhinski during the raid, was shot down in front of his house a short time later and was admitted to hospital seriously injured. When Bobby learns about it, he recognizes which of the two sides he would like to decide on and agrees to serve as a decoy. He gets in touch with Pavel Lubyarsky - Vadim Nezhinski's right-hand man - to find out something about an upcoming big drug deal. In Vadim Nezhinski's drug shop, Bobby's double game is discovered and the police are almost too late to save him. Bobby kills Lubyarsky, is seriously injured himself, and Nezhinski is arrested. Bobby is accepted into the witness protection program and from now on lives with his girlfriend Amada Juarez in constantly changing hotels.

When the two of them are due to be relocated, they are betrayed by Bobby's former best friend Jumbo Falsetti. Deputy Chief Albert Grusinsky - Bobby's and Joseph's father - is killed. From then on, Bobby would like to go to the police to actively participate in the prosecution of the Mafiosi. His girlfriend can no longer bear the constant fear and leaves him.

Vadim Nezhinski, who escaped on a hospital visit, now becomes the main target of Joseph and Bobby Grusinsky. The owner of Bobby's former club - Marat Buzhayev - is Nezhinski's uncle. The Grusinsky brothers have Buzhayev shadowed. The only clue they have is his planned trip with his grandchildren for riding lessons. The police lurk there at the said time and hear about the deal between the club owner and other dealers. Vadim Nezhinski is also there. The police arrest the club owner Buzhayev and Vadim Nezhinski is killed by Bobby.

At the end of the film, Joseph and Bobby can be seen together in police uniform as the New York Police Academy graduates are fired. Bobby thinks he sees Amada in the audience, but in the next scene it turns out that it is another woman who only looks like her.
