Helen Coonan (born October 29, 1947 in Mangoplah , New South Wales ) is an Australian politician .

Life

After finishing school, Coonan studied law at the University of Sydney . She then worked as a lawyer. Coonan is a member of the Liberal Party of Australia . From 1996 to 2011 she was a member of the Australian Senate . From 2004 to 2007 Coonan was Minister of Communications, Information Technology and Culture.

Helen Coonan is married to Andrew Rogers and is Catholic.
