Helen Shaver

Helen Shaver (born February 24, 1951 in St. Thomas , Ontario ) is a Canadian actress and director .

life and career

Before Helen Shaver discovered her talent for acting, she financed her studies as a model. Her better-known films include Sam Peckinpah's The Osterman Weekend (1983, wife of Dennis Hopper ), the drama Desert Hearts (1985) and the action film The Ruler of Central Park (1986, starring Tommy Lee Jones as a desperate Vietnam veteran).

She was also popular with a wide audience through her numerous series roles. a. known as psychologist Rachel Corrigan in the horror series Poltergeist . In 1989 and 2001 she was nominated for Gemini Awards . In 2001 she won a Genie Award for Best Supporting Actress for We All Fall Down . In recent years she has appeared in several episodes of the series 4400 - The Returnees and The L Word - When Women Love Women .

Since 1997 Helen Shaver has also directed numerous television productions.

In 2004 Helen Shaver was honored with the inclusion in Canada's Walk of Fame .
