Helge Loytved

Helge Loytved (born September 2, 1948 in Berlin ) is a German lawyer. Until November 2013 he was a judge at the Federal Social Court .

Life

After graduating from high school Leopoldinum in Detmold studied Loytved from 1967 at the University of Wuerzburg and Muenster law . He passed the first state examination in law in 1972. In 1973 and 1974, respectively, the University of Pennsylvania awarded him the academic title of a Master of Arts and a Master of Laws . The second state examination in law followed in 1977.

In Wolfgang grid at the University of Bayreuth doctorate he after the second State examination with a thesis on health insurance law.

Loytved then began his judicial career in North Rhine-Westphalia . He was initially a judge at the Gelsenkirchen Social Court since March 1982 . From there he was appointed to the State Social Court of North Rhine-Westphalia from November 1986 . From March 1983 to February 1985 Loytved was seconded as a research assistant to the Federal Social Court or (from March 1989 to November 1991) to the Federal Constitutional Court. He was appointed judge at the Federal Social Court in November 1991.

Loytved initially belonged to the 13th Senate (responsible for the pension insurance of the workers), since July 1995 as its deputy chairman. Since June 2002 he has been the presiding judge of the 9th Senate (in particular social compensation law and the law for severely disabled persons) and the 10th Senate (old-age security for farmers, federal parental allowance and legal protection in the event of lengthy court proceedings). He also participated in self-government and was a deputy member of the judges' council from July 1998 to the end of June 2002. From July 2002 to the end of June 2010 and from September 2013 Loytved was a member of the presidential council of the court.

Since April 1983 Loytved has held a lectureship for social security and employment promotion law at Bielefeld University . The university made him an honorary professor in April 2002 .

Helge Loytved retired at the end of November 2013.
