Heloros ( ancient Greek Ἕλωρος ) is a person of Greek mythology .

In the heroic of Flavius Philostratos (2nd – 3rd centuries), which tells of an encounter with the spirits of heroes of the Trojan War , Heloros is a son of the river god Istros and the brother of Actaios . Aktaios is the leader of the Scythians and an ally of the Arcadian Telephos , who in turn is allied with the Trojans . As part of the Trojan War, there is a battle with the Greeks on the Kaïkos . The brothers Heloros and Aktaios first face the Atrids and Aias the Lokrer , until Aias the Telamonians rushes over, frightening their horses and killing them both when they jump from the wagon.

In Johannes Tzetzes (12th century) Heloros is a Mysian . In contrast to Philostratus, he has the son Melanippus here , who is killed in the battle by Neoptolemus .

A pictorial representation of Heloros can be found on the Telephos frieze of the 2nd century BC. The Pergamon Altar was erected in BC and shows how he and his brother Actaios are killed by Aias.
