Henderson is a city with 27,373 inhabitants (2000) on the Ohio River in Henderson County in western Kentucky in the United States and at the same time the seat of the county administration .
Henderson is located 16 km south of the city of Evansville , 123 km northeast of the city of Paducah , 47 km west of the city of Owensboro , 172 km southwest of the city of Louisville and 140 km northeast of the city of Carbondale .
