Hendrik Apetz

Hendrik Apetz (born March 26, 1910 in Emden ; † February 26, 2011 there ) was a German entrepreneur .

Life

A native of Emden Hendrik Apetz turned after high school studying law at the University of Greifswald to, there took place in 1933 his doctorate to Dr. jur. During his studies in 1929 he became a member of the Frankonia fraternity in Bonn .

After taking on various professional tasks after completing his studies, he was appointed sole director of the Emden herring fishery in 1946 . After the merger with the empty herring fishery in 1961, Hendrik Apetz was elected to the board. Apetz also held the office of managing director of Emden Küstenschiffahrt GmbH for several years from 1974 . In 1966 he was appointed chairman of the Emden merchants' union, a position he held until 1979. Hendrik Apetz chaired the Association of Lower Saxony Chambers of Commerce and Industry from 1971 to 1973, at the same time he was also a member of the board of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry . He was also used as the Royal Swedish Consul for the Aurich district .

In addition, Apetz was largely responsible for the reconstruction of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for East Friesland and Papenburg (IHK) after the end of the Second World War . In 1947 he was elected to the first general assembly, at the same time he was appointed a member of the presidium. In 1961 he was given the office of president, which he resigned in 1982. He was then appointed honorary president in recognition of his special services to the regional economy .
