Hendrik van Boeijen
Hendrik van Boeijen (born May 23, 1889 in Putten , † March 30, 1947 in Soesterberg ) was a Dutch politician .
In 1937 van Boeijen, who belonged to the CHU , was appointed interior minister in the fourth Colijn cabinet. He held this office for eight years: from 1937 to 1940 as regular interior minister, then from 1940 to 1945 as interior minister of the Dutch government-in-exile, which was evacuated to London. His deafness and poor health impaired his work during these years.
After his escape to Great Britain in 1940, the National Socialist police officers placed Van Boeijen on the special wanted list GB , a list of people who, in the event of a successful invasion of Great Britain by the Wehrmacht, were to be located and arrested by the occupying forces following special SS units with special priority .
family
Van Boejen's son Jaap served as mayor of Tholen from 1964 to 1978 and as mayor of Harderwijk from 1978 to 1992 .
