Herbert E. Britt

Herbert E. Britt (born November 30, 1908 , † September 19, 1964 in Los Angeles , California) was an American film technician who was awarded an Oscar for technical merits at the Academy Awards in 1947 and 1950 .

Life

At the Academy Awards in 1947, Britt received a Technical Achievement Award of Class III "for the development and application of formulas and systems for the production of clouds and smoke effects" ("For the development and application of formulas and equipment for producing cloud and smoke effects" ).

At the Academy Awards in 1950 he was again awarded the Technical Achievement Award, this time "for the development and application of formulas and systems for the production of artificial snow and ice for processing on film sets" ("For the development and application of formulas and equipment producing artificial snow and ice for dressing motion-picture sets ").

On November 5, 1956, Britt was also issued a patent certificate under the number US 2898934 A for the invention of a drain valve , which was published on August 11, 1959.
