Herbert F. Schubert

Herbert F. Schubert (born February 12, 1931 in Glatz , Lower Silesia Province ; † May 17, 2011 in Berlin ) was a German dancer and choreographer .

Life

Herbert F. Schubert learned the profession of freight forwarding agent in Herford . He then took singing, dance and acting lessons in Hamburg. His dance career began in São Paulo in 1957 , where he had his own television show. After his return he worked with Maurice Béjart in Paris and with Gustaf Gründgens at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg . In 1962 he founded the "Herbert Dancers" and a ballet school in Hamburg. a. Ute Lemper was. From 1967 he directed the ZDF television ballet . As an actor he appeared in the series Cliff Dexter in 1967/1968 .

In the 1980s he worked as a ballet director at the Stadttheater Münster . He later received visiting professorships at the University of the Arts in Berlin and the University of Music and Theater in Hamburg. Schubert, who gave up his artistic career in 1996, last lived in Berlin. Occasionally he also took on the artistic advice for show events.

Schubert was the brother of Renate Schubert .
