Herbert Hechtel

Herbert Hechtel (born December 9, 1937 in Ansbach ; † April 12, 2014 ) was a German composer .

Life

Herbert Hechtel composed his first smaller works as a schoolboy. After studying at the Munich Music Academy (school music, violin and composition), he continued his composition studies with Erhard Karkoschka in Stuttgart .

From 1967 onwards, Herbert Hechtel studied musicology , psychology and philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen . Associated with this was in 1968 a change to the musical Christian-Ernst-Gymnasium as a high school teacher for music.

In 1967 Herbert Hechtel received the composition prize of the Jeunesses Musicales and in 1976 he was awarded the cultural promotion prize of the city of Erlangen .

On behalf of the city of Erlangen, he composed "Relazione per due", a piano concerto for two pianists and orchestra, for the year of music in 1985.

He has written over 50 solo, chamber music and ensemble pieces for various ensembles, often for friends and by order, as well as songs, choral and orchestral works. Almost all of his works are available as radio productions, some on CD and vinyl.
