Herbert Rische

Herbert Rische (born September 10, 1947 in Passau ) was from 1991 to March 2014 President of the largest German pension insurance company, the German Pension Insurance Association (formerly the Federal Insurance Agency for Salaried Employees (BfA)).

Life

Rische studied law from 1969 to 1973 in Freiburg im Breisgau , Berlin and Geneva . At Freiburg District Court he held from 1974 to 1976 traineeships, and a year later became judges on Social Court Stuttgart. In 1978 he did his doctorate on the subject of "Compensation claims between social benefit providers".

From 1978 to 1988 he worked at the Association of German Pension Insurance Institutions (VDR), most recently as head of department and responsible for the data center (DSRV) operated jointly by the pension insurance institutions. From 1988 to 1991 he was a member of the management board of the BfA and from 1991 to 2005 its president. Since October 1, 2005 he was elected President of the German Pension Insurance Association; his term of office ended in March 2014. Until 2013 he was chairman of the board of the Society for Insurance Science and Design. Since July 2015 Herbert Rische has been deputy chairman of the arbitration board for setting drug prices according to Section 130b of the Social Code Book V.
