Herman Rottger

Herman Rottger (born August 12, 1881 in New York , USA , † 1917 ) was an American actor.

Life

Rottger worked as an apprentice in a bricklaying company, in 1905 he began working as an actor in theaters. He made his first film in 1907 with Sidney Olcott , a short film about Ben Hur (1907) . He then made small films until 1915.

In 1916 he was drafted into the US Army when the United States intervened in World War I. In 1917, Herman died on the side of the Entente in a poison gas attack by Austro-Hungarian soldiers.
