Hermann Adolph Christian Dietrich (born May 11, 1856 in Schmargendorf ; † July 5, 1930 at the Metzelthin manor near Templin ) was a German politician of the German National People's Party .

Life

Hermann Dietrich studied law at the University of Jena . In 1876 he became active in the Corps Guestphalia Jena . He moved to the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and in the same year also became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . When he was inactive , he went to the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . After completing his studies, he was initially a trainee lawyer in the Prussian judicial service. He was a lawyer and notary from 1882 and in Prenzlau from 1891 .

From 1899 to 1918 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and the Reichstag for the German Conservative Party as a representative of the constituency administrative district Potsdam 3 (Templin-Ruppin) .

Hermann Dietrich was deputy chairman of the German National People's Party, which he co-founded, until 1924. For them he sat in the Weimar National Assembly and until 1928 in the Reichstag (Weimar Republic) . He was also Vice President of the Weimar National Assembly and until 1924 Vice President of the Reichstag.

From 1910 to 1926 he was chairman of the General Association of German Raiffeisen Cooperatives and from 1918 to 1929 member of the supervisory boards of Ostdeutsche Privatbank AG , Allianz and Stuttgarter Lebensversicherungsbank AG and Deutsche Rentenbank-Kreditanstalt. He was also a member of the Provisional Reich Economic Council .

Hermann Dietrich was made an honorary citizen of the city of Prenzlau on November 1, 1918 .

He was married to Ida Frowein and related to Max Dietrich (brother) and Marlene Dietrich (niece).
